With only a few years left on a dying Earth, Marc's covert mission to save 4.5 billion lives clashes with the fate of a pristine parallel world—and his terminally ill daughter.

Meet the Characters

Marc

Driven by the need to save his terminally ill daughter, Captain Marc Sanders faces the ultimate question: "Does the end justify the means?"

His mission is to infiltrate Idyllium and prepare for an all-out invasion from Earth leading to a forced occupation. Presented as "the lives of a few to save billions," he wrestles with the morality of his actions.

Kateryna

The "civvy" of the team, she thought she came to Idyllium to operate the comms equipment and send messages back to Earth. Then her role as the distraction in the black dress convinced her Marc had ulterior motives for bringing her along.

When they meet up with Idyllium's most famous reporter, Kat learns the true nature of her role on Marc's team.

Roberta

Running the UGA, which is to say, most of the world, Roberta is as ruthless and cunning as she is seductive. And she gets what she wants. She is driven by her ambition to save the 4.5 billion in her care on a dying Earth.

Does she have any moral lines to cross? As the operation she commissioned unfolds, Roberta will make decisions that hold billions of lives on two worlds in the balance.

Saul

Ever the loyal soldier, Saul is committed to the mission. His obvious animosity toward his captain seems ready to erupt. What dark past does he carry with him on the mission to Idyllium?

When the parameters change, Saul becomes a wildcard and the lines blur between following orders and working toward his ultimate goal.

Sharon

"This is why you always bring a scientist."

An environmental biologist, Sharon's role is to monitor the effects of opening vortices between worlds. If they are to emigrate Earth's population to Idyllium, she doesn't want to ruin their pristine ecosystem.

Her captain may have another use for her skills.

Frank

Struggling to focus on the mission rather than on Kat, Frank is tossed between objectives. Loyal to Marc, he tries to work under his stern commander, Saul Mullins. This is almost as hard a task as keeping his mind, and eyes, off Kat.

Malcolm

Mal tries to hide his medical condition as well as he hid his attraction to Sharon for months. When Marc discovers his secret days before crossing over, will Mal make the cut?

Casey & Jewel

The center of their universe, Jewel doesn't have many birthdays left before her illness takes her from her loving parents.

Still recovering from the effects of her despair, Casey learns of Marc's mission to Idyllium, to save their daughter. Will she have the strength she needs to help Marc get Jewel to a parallel world where she can get well?

Peter/John

Youthful assistant to the chairperson and the SCL, he becomes Roberta's gopher and the outlet of her pent-up tension. Seeing and hearing things way above his pay grade, Peter/John devises his own contingency plan.

Henry (Pops)

Loving father to Sharon, Henry learns of her mission to Idyllium and fears they will bring death and corruption to this new world. His daughter has other plans, and her pops becomes a central part of them.
